What do today’s unemployment statistics tell us?

We all know that unemployment is rising – at the end of September this year 1,825,000 people were out of work but wanted a job.  But what else are the figures showing us?  You can read our initial analysis here – which I will be blogging on later this afternoon.  Further detailed analysis will also be available in our recession report early next week.
