Cuts Watch #45: Promised new crime agency may be cut

The Coalition’s plans to develop a new office to fight economic crime may be put on hold as a result of spending cuts.  The Chancellor has claimed that the new agency will: “sweep away the confused, multi-agency approach and create a single, focused body with the mandate, expertise and authority needed to tackle serious economic crime”. But The Guardian now reports it may never happen.
