Cuts Watch #67: Local cuts hit services

16 Jun 2010, by in Cuts Watch

The BBC has carried out a survey of local authorities, investigating how spending cuts will hit local services. The results reveal that frontline services are being cut. Of particular note are: the closure of two schools in Gloustershire; youth workers in Cambridgeshire being told to focus only on providing services to the most vulnerable children; cuts to adult social care services in Staffordshire and Worcestershire; and the closure of a project supporting homeless people to find apprenticeships in Canterbury.
