Cuts Watch #69: Childcare cuts

Children’s centres in deprived areas are reportedly scaling back their childcare services, in anticipation of cuts. Funding for daycare provided via children’s centres is provided by the Sure Start Early Years and Childcare Grant, which is due to run out in March 2011.

    In Hackney, there has been cuts to commuity nurseries going back prior to the election. There is though already a strong, organised campaign to resist these cuts..
