  • Hard on the heels of German Chancellor Merkel's call for the EU to introduce a Robin Hood Tax, EU Commissioner Barnier supports the call for a financial transactions tax, and endorses the UK Government view that an EU bank levy should be available for Governments to spend as they wish, rather than only on covering the cost of bank bailouts. Good news for the Robin Hood Tax campaign.
