Cuts Watch #269: The Big Society (again)

01 Oct 2010, by in Cuts Watch

It turns out that over half of charities think that The Big Society has died a death before it’s even started: a recent poll shows that less than half of charities surveyed by the Charities Aid Foundation believe that the big society vision will work, even if given sufficient resources.  Of the 46 per cent who do think the ideal is achievable, most felt that sufficient funds would be a necessary prerequisite. Given that many respondents also felt their finances were getting worse as a result of cuts, the Big Society’s chances aren’t looking good.
