We’re much too serious to suggest Captain Ska for Xmas No 1

16 Nov 2010, by in Politics

We are far too serious on Touchstone to link to amusing political videos or ever to join in campaigns to make tunes not featured on the X-factor the Christmas number one.

Indeed we are far more likely to write 800 words on why the whole concept of number one on the charts substitutes market success for what should be an aesthetic judgement.

But if we were ever to break this rule …

… we just might feature what’s below … and even urge you to join the Facebook group Captain Ska “Liar Liar” for Xmas 2010 No1.

But of course we never break our own rules … not even for a tune that reminds us so much of what happened in the 1980s.

And if you’re much too serious you probably won’t want to go and buy the song from itunes for 79p and know that all the proceeds go to charities supporting those affected by the cuts…and you wouldn’t want it to get into the charts so that a wide audience gets the message about how many of us are outraged by what they’re doing…would you? : )

    come on….
