The Daily Telegraph is always worth reading. Today they’ve got an editorial explaining that the problem with George Osborne’s record as Chancellor is that he isn’t cutting enough, they won’t be happy till ” further action is taken to reduce bloated public spending.” And they have an op-ed from Fraser Nelson, arguing that Sweden and Estonia are the examples we should follow. -
I’ve got an idea! Let’s cut spending to Swedish levels!
- Swedish “general government” spending, 2011 – 51.18% of GDP
- UK, ”general government” spending in 2011 - 48.57% of GDP
