Cuts Watch #46: Further detail on housing cuts
Inside Housing reports that entire regeneration schemes are in jepordy as a result of spending cuts at the Homes and Communities Agency.
- Each Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder faces a 20 per cent cut to their budget. It has been argued that this reduction will make it impossible to commence regeneration schemes as compulsory purchase orders can no longer be afforded.
- As a result of the Kickstart scheme cuts at least 12 regeneration projects are on hold, including the re-development of the Ferrier estate in Greenwich.
- Eco-town developments, approved by the previous Government, look likely to have their funding reduced.
