Cuts Watch #179: Cuts in Coventry
In response to the significant reductions that the Government has made to local authority budgets, Coventry city council is proposing to make significant cuts to services. Areas facing spending cuts include support services for young people being bullied at school, the Connexions careers services and speech and language support services for childdren. £200,000 is being cut from the Children’s Fund, which supports local projects aimed at the most disadvantaged young people. Overall, 20 posts will be lost.
