Graduate unemployment

26 Jan 2011, by in Labour market

I have a post today at Left Foot Forward about today’s figures showing that graduate unemployment has doubled since the start of the recession. It makes the government’s decision to cut back on support for unemployed young people even harder to comprehend.

I am a unemployed recent graduate in London doing everything I can to avoid becoming one of the next ‘lost generation’. I know many people my age going through the same struggles but afraid to talk about the emotional impact of unemployment as a young person. I’ve begun a blog speaking about the real life of a 2010 graduate. We need to support each other as we work to kick-start the careers we deserve.
